Several Houston events are lined up to mark the day and celebrate the civil rights leader. The downtown Houston 2025 Annual MLK Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Lamar and Smith Streets, moving east. From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. there will be the 28th Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration at Children's Museum Houston. The event is $19.95 for people ages 1 and up. From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. celebrate MLK at the Martin Luther King Jr Day at Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or MLK Day, is observed annually on the third Monday in January. The 2025 holiday falls on Jan. 20. Although MLK Day is on Jan. 20 this year, King's birthday is Jan. 15.
