The MLK Day March and Convocation are organized by the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship. 2025 will be our 40th year. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to take part in the 2025 Nashville MLK Day March and Convocation, celebrating 40 years of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Nashville! Transportation will be available, and Vanderbilt attendees who register to attend will receive a free MLK Day hoodie. Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in style on Thursday, January 11, 2024, starting at 5:30 PM (Central Standard Time). Located at 1011 21st Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208 , this in-person event promises an enchanting atmosphere filled with elegance and camaraderie. MLK Joint Day of Service, the day of volunteering for students, faculty, and staff at Nashville-area colleges, begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. Bonus: Lean into learning. This year’s event will take place from January 20, 2025, marking four decades of honoring Dr. King’s leadership in the Civil Rights Movement and Nashville’s role in advancing his vision. This nationally recognized event draws thousands each year and is considered one of the largest MLK Day celebrations in the Southeast. From 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. students are invited to Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High School to join in on workshops that celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King. The holiday is a day ON, where people of all ages and backgrounds improve lives, bridge social barriers, and move our nation closer to the “Beloved MLK Joint Day of Service. The MLK Joint Day of Service is an annual celebration of Dr. King’s legacy. On Saturday, Jan. 25, students from all of Nashville’s colleges and universities will come together at Meharry Medical College for a kickoff event and then volunteer at community service projects across the city.
