2025 mlk parade Annually, the Los Angeles County African Amerian Employees Association, participates in the Kingdom Day Parade (KDP) honoring the life, legacy, and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 2025 KINGDOM DAY PARADE has been rescheduled to February 17, 2025. The Kingdom Day Parade is a cherished Los Angeles tradition honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Through its mission of promoting peace and unity, the parade unites diverse communities to celebrate Dr. King’s vision of equality and justice for all. LACAAEA will file one application for all association to participate Sunday, January 19, 2025. Many are inquiring; "Why the switch to Sunday?" According to the parade organizers the Parade’s date change is due to the Presidential Inauguration Day (Monday, January 20th) having fallen on the MLK Holiday. ABOUT THE MLK KINGDOM DAY PARADE: At the Coliseum in 1964, Dr. King passionately and persuasively addressed 15,000 Angelenos on the issues of race relations and human dignity. In 2025, L.A. Works will continue our long tradition of honoring Dr. King’s legacy by organizing the MLK 2025 Volunteer Festival: Take Action to Support our Beloved Community.
