The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Planning Committee is pleased to announce the 21st Annual Community Engagement Awards. This year, we will recognize three members of the Stockton Community - one Undergraduate Student, one Graduate Student, and one Student Club/Organization for their outstanding community engagement activities. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is Stockton University’s signature annual day of service. It brings together over 900 students, community members and community partners, and often encompasses over 25 projects both on- and off-campus. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service brings together over 500 students, community members, and community partners, and often encompasses over 15 projects both on- and off-campus. The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service will debut a new schedule designed to streamline the program and allow for more time on projects, which are set to include making holiday wreaths for older adults in our local assisted living communities, making dog/cat toys for the Atlantic County Animal Shelter and knitting hats for newborns. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is Stockton University’s signature Annual Day of Service. It brings together over 500 students, community members, and community partners, and often encompasses over 15 projects both on- and off-campus. One of those opportunities, the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, is considered a signature Stockton tradition. The 21 st MLK Day of Service will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, and will feature more than 20 different projects on the Galloway, Atlantic City, Woodbine and Hammonton campuses. Registration is open. Many students from local high schools and middle schools in the Galloway and Atlantic City areas were invited to participate. “I was incredibly impressed by the scale of Stockton’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and the dedicated members of the Stockton community who have organized this event for 20 years,” Bertolino said.
