MLK Day of Service at West Mill Creek. 9:00 a.m. to noon. West Mill Creek Playground—5100 Parrish Street, 19139. The West Mill Creek Playground will be holding a day of service for Martin Luther King Day. We are seeking volunteers to assist with clean up (indoor and outdoor of playground) and hat and glove handout. Habitat Charlotte Region’s MLK Week of Service is a collection of volunteer opportunities that bring together a diverse array of partners from across the area to help build a brighter, more just Charlotte Region. MLK Day of Service Volunteer Opportunities: Share Food Program (Monday, Jan. 20, Various Locations) — Join Share Food Program for its MLK Day of Service Pack-a-Thon as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service and fighting hunger together. Join us in January to make MLK Day a "day on, not a day off". We'll be celebrating the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy all weekend with volunteer and engagement programs from Friday, January 17 - Monday, January 20, 2025. From park maintenance to habitat restoration, service work to guided walks – there is something for everyone. For MLK Day of Service 2025, we have various ways you can get involved including an impactful project aimed at making a difference in the lives of those in need. Your involvement will promote the values of service and compassion. On Monday, January 16, 2023, we hosted our 6th annual MLK Day of Service. As the country transitions to new leadership and Atlanta hosts the College Football Playoff National Championship, thousands of Atlantans will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by uniting in service.
